The following, which was held to today's calendar (page 2345), was

     HOUSE BILL NO. 384                                                                                                         
     "An Act increasing the minimum wage; and providing for an                                                                  
     effective date."                                                                                                           
                                                                                                                                
Representative Pruitt moved and asked unanimous consent that                                                                    
HB 384 be returned to second reading for the specific purpose of                                                                
considering Amendment No. 1.  There being no objection, it was so                                                               
ordered.                                                                                                                        
                                                                                                                                
The Speaker stated that, without objection, HB 384 would be returned                                                            
to second reading for all amendments.

"It is the intent of the 28 Alaska State Legislature that the following                                                         
general provisions pertaining to the minimum wage, as expressed by                                                              
the enacted version of House Bill 384, will not be revisited by the                                                             
legislature for the purposes of amendment or repeal for a period of not                                                         
less than two years following enactment:

     1. Provisions establishing the level of the minimum wage;                                                                  
     2. Provisions establishing adjustment of the level of the                                                                  
         minimum wage in accordance with inflation; and                                                                         
     3. Provisions pertaining to the applicability of tips and gratuities                                                       
         toward a worker's hourly wage."                                                                                        
                                                                                                                                
Representative Johnson moved and asked unanimous consent that the                                                               
letter of intent be adopted.
